Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) is a communication technology that enables instant voice communication over cellular networks. It is functionally similar to traditional two-way radios, but it leverages the widespread coverage and data capabilities of mobile networks. When integrated with land mobile radio (LMR) systems, PoC extends communication beyond the range of radio towers. This gives teams in the field a cost-effective way to stay connected across vast geographic areas.
JPS Z-Series gateways communicate with many of the most widely used PoC applications on the market, and the number is growing. Audio from PoC applications may be integrated at a software level or it may be supported using a shared protocol. Software-level integration simplifies setup by using PoC credentials. Supported PoC apps that use a shared protocol require configuring network addresses and ports. Regardless of method used, Z-Series gateways can link PoC audio with audio from other, disparate systems.
The following partners provide PoC applications, and for your convenience we are supplying a brief description from the provider. Since JPS gateways serve customers by remaining technologically agnostic, PoC app system capabilities as described may not be represented in the gateway. Contact us to learn more. If you use a PoC app but don’t see yours listed, or if you are a PoC app and want to be listed, let us know.
